Although the time we worked together was brief, Mike was such a good guy to work with at UNC Ortho. He had a nice smile and a good ole belly laugh. He was a hard worker, eager to learn, and left behind fond memories for many. He left a huge impact on those that worked with him and will be missed. Thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones during this time.

Paige, I didn't realize we were neighbors. I'm in Julian. I'm so sorry for your loss. I've followed Mike on facebook over the years and was so happy for both of you. If you need anything I'm right around the corner. I will keep you and Noah in my prayers.

Big Mike, I have known you for as long as I can remember. We went to school together, graduated together (Class of '86!!), talked EMS for hours and hours together, and the fun we all had at the class reunion just a short year ago. I went to grab a picture of you from the football game but realized you are not in it because you took the picture :( I just can not believe you are gone. I also can not believe that with ALL of the things you did, all of your accomplishments, and all of the lives you have touched both medically and as a friend, that your obituary above has been left so vague. No mention of your fiance', your son, or even your brother in England. It was great to see that you had finally found love and happiness this past year Mike. I know that all you ever wanted to do was help people, to love, and be loved in return which you finally were. You will be missed more than you know. Rest in peace big guy! You were loved by all of your friends and admired by many more ~ Mike was preceded in death by his father. His mother passed away only days after Mike left us. He leaves behind his loving fiance', Stephanie Paige Lawson whom he lived with in Guilford County. Mike also leaves behind a son, Noah Jacobs, and a brother, Robert Jacobs, who lives in Leeds, England. Mike Jacobs was an EMT-Paramedic in the state of North Carolina. He was a member of the Winston-Salem Rescue Squad. He studied emergency medicine at Surry County Community College, was a graduate of North Forsyth High School in Winston-Salem in June of 1986, and he left us far too soon. The class of 86' will be making a donation to a charity we know Mike would have approved of in his honor instead of sending flowers ~

So shocked and saddened by Mike's unexpected passing on March 6th. He was a big man with an even bigger heart. He loved our daughter, Paige, his fiancée, so very much, and they made each other so happy . They both were looking forward to the day they could be married and spend the rest of their lives together. Ron and I would have been proud to have him as our son-in-law. May you rest in peace, Mike. You will be forever missed.
