Patricia was born May 12, 1927, in Abbassia, Egypt, to Victor George Stevens and Elsie Taylor,. Victor George was a British soldier who was stationed there for five years, and his wife Elsie Taylor Stevens, who followed him there.
The family returned to England in 1931, where Patricia attended schools in Woolwich, Salisbury and Reading.
In 1943, Patricia met Marko Morakis, who was in the United States Army, 101st Airborne division. Marko served in the June 6th Allied Invasion of Normandy, Holland; and the Battle of the Bulge, in Bastogne. Marko had R and R in Paris, France, until 1945, when he returned to England. He and Pat They were married there in England in February of 1945.
At wars’ end, Marko returned to the US, where Pat followed in April 1946. After a few days in Ohio, they came to High Point, North Carolina, where they raised their three children.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Marko Christ Morakis, in 2005 after 60 years of very happy marriage.; father, Victor Stevens and mother, Elsie Stevens.
Patricia is survived by daughters, Angela Wagner (and husband Rick), and Valerie Morakis; son, Christopher Steven Morakis and wife (Monica); grandchildren, Mason Garner (Todd Johnson), Taylor Barefoot, and Galen Morakis (Angela); and great grandchild Pressly Garner.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
A memorial service for Patricia will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 24, 2019, in the Chapel of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Melissa Lowe and Pastor Kelly Barefoot officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Asbury Room of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.
