Pearlie Frances New Duncan

Mrs. Duncan was born in Tiptop, WV, July 4, 1920, a daughter of the late William Rufus New and Melinda Jane Lamb New. She worked at Woodmark Originals for many years and was a faithful member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and a former charter member of Faith Baptist Church. Pearlie was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Duncan, a daughter, Barbara Jane Guffey, a son, G. Richard Duncan and eight siblings. Pearlie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are a daughter, Shelby Tucker; a son, Kenneth Duncan, Sr. and wife Brenda; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Ballard.

A Celebration of Pearlie’s life will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Davis Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Josh Gentle. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12 noon until service. Pallbearers will be Chuck Duncan, Keith Lassiter, Kirk Duncan, Christopher Duncan, Jamie Brannock and Jacob Nielsen. Memorials may be directed to the Woodlawn Baptist Church or Pennybyrn.
