Peter Mitchell Robinson

Peter Robinson of High Point passed away on 30th April 2026 after a long battle with lung cancer. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Helen and three children, Stephen, Kathryn and David.

Peter was born in the UK where he studied chemistry and graduated from the University of Salford. He earned his PhD from Huddersfield Polytechnic in 1972.

He was transferred to the USA by American Cyanamid to become manager of their Water Treating R&D Department and went on to hold senior management positions at Exxon and Kao Corp. before retiring from the corporate world to run his own consulting business. He holds numerous patents in the chemical industry and has travelled globally as a consultant. Even after retirement, he enjoyed keeping in touch with past clients, offering advice where he could.

His strong work ethic carried over into his home life. He enjoyed household projects and was a perfectionist in everything he turned his hand to.

The family would like to thank Dr. Harish and the staff at Hayworth Cancer Center for their excellent care and also Hospice of the Piedmont.

A Memorial Service for Peter will be held Friday, May 15, 2026, at 11a.m. at Sechrest-Davis Funerals and Cremations of High Point, NC. The family will receive friends after the service.
