Ramona Pons Caudle

Ramona Pons Caudle, 90, went to be with her Lord Monday, May 6, 2019 at Woodland Hill Center following several years of declining health.

Ramona was born in High Point, November 12, 1928, a daughter of the late Louis and Talley Dennis Pons. She graduated from Allen Jay High School in 1946 and was a member of the 1945 championship basketball team. Ramona was a legal secretary with Haworth, Riggs, Kuhn and Haworth law firm from 1968 until 1993. She served as the president of the High Point Legal Secretaries Association in 1983-1984. Ramona was a very active member of Rankin United Methodist Church as long as her health permitted. She served as the choir director for 55 years and was president of United Methodist Women among her many areas of service with the church. She was also involved with Archdale Friends Meeting in later years. Ramona loved music, singing, crossword puzzles, reading, her flowers, activities with her sister and going to the beach and mountains. She was known for her persimmon puddings and loved Carolina Tarheel basketball . She enjoyed spending time with her son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a niece and great-nieces and great-nephews. Ramona was preceded in death by her husband, Beverly Caudle and her daughter, Melissa Caudle Smith.

Surviving are her son, Blair Caudle; grandchildren, Katie Caudle, Heather Smith Harding and Wesley Smith; and four great-grandchildren, Kaila, Kaylee, Mason and Eli; sister, Dolores Robbins; daughter in law, Karon Caudle.; and son-in-law Gary Smith.

A Celebration of Ramona's life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Rankin United Methodist Church by Rev. Clarinda Crawford and Rev. Rusty Parsons. The family will receive friends following the service until 5 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice. Davis Funeral Home is serving the family.
