Mrs. Spencer was born in Leland, March 26, 1944, a daughter of the late James C. Croom and Mary Thomas Croom. She was a homemaker and a member of God’s House of Prayer. Rebecca was preceded in death by a son, Michael Spencer.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Sherman M. Spencer; two sons, Chris Spencer and wife Vicki and Dion Spencer; a brother, James C. Croom; three sisters, Marie Godfrey, Alice Boswell and Lois Jacobs; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 6 p.m. at God’s House of Prayer, 311 Trindale Rd., Archdale by Pastor Bruno Wolf and Pastor Ronnie Everhart. The family will receive friends following the service. Davis Funerals and Cremations is serving the family.
