

Richard was born May 13, 1927, in New York City; a son of the late Francis H. Pipan and Mary Sigerson Pipan. New York is where Richard met the love of his life, Audrey Golaszewski who birthed seven beautiful children.
He served our country in the Navy during the second World War on the U.S.S. Lake Champlain CV-39. Richard graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a Master's degree in Business. He later worked for Gilbarco as the Mechanical Engineering Manager. Richard was also a professor at GTCC, teaching technical vocations. He loved gardening, golf, and anything outdoors. Richard loved being with his family. It was a BIG party when family was around! He was a handy man who could fix anything. Richard stayed busy and enjoyed working. In his 90's, Richard would still have fun working on clocks.
He has been a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary for over 35 years.
Preceded in Richard's death was his wife of 72 wonderful years, Audrey Pipan, his two sisters, Ann Stott and Frances Eidlin and his brother James Pipan.
The loved ones left to cherish Richard's legacy are his seven children and their extended families.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont.
The family will have a private gathering to celebrate Richard's life.
