

Mr. Adams, 90, of Williston, FL, formerly of High Point, NC, passed away on May 18, 2016 at his home in Williston. He is survived by children, Dr. Kelly Adams of Williston, FL, and Robert Adams (Patricia), of Mint Hill, NC and grandchildren, Theodore Adams and Abigail Adams of Mint Hill. Mr. Adams is also survived by his siblings Marian Adams Smith, Joan Adams Nelson and Dr. Richard W. Adams. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Kathryn Floyd Adams; two children, Roger Lee Adams III and Elizabeth Ann Adams; and one brother, Bruce Adams.
He joined the Army Air Corps at the age of 17 during World War II, remained in the Reserves after the war, and was reactivated during the Korean War. He retired after 33 years of service as an engineer with Western Electric and AT&T. He was involved with the Nike-Hercules anti-ballistic missile system and worked in Europe training NATO troops in the deployment of Pershing and cruise missiles. After retirement, he worked for several investment firms and was a vice-president at Scott & Stringfellow (later BB&T) in Greensboro. He retired again and moved to Florida in 2010.
Visitation will take place at Sechrest Funeral Home: 1301 E. Lexington Ave., High Point, NC 27262 from 5:00-7:00 on Tuesday May 24,2016. Funeral Service will take place at Floral Gardens Cemetery: 1730 W. English Rd., High Point, NC 27262 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016.
