

Mrs. Ruby W. Collins of 1916 N. Clodfelter Road, High Point, passed from this earth into her eternal home with her Heavenly Father on August 1, 2011. She was born June 24, 1927 near Elon, N.C. the daughter of Sallie and Arthur Wyrick, who preceded her in death. Four brothers Floyd, Elmer, Virgil, and Ervin and an infant sister also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Paul A. Collins of the home, daughter Cheryl Delk of Wilmington, NC, and son Craig Collins of High Point, her granddaughters Kimberly Delk of New Orleans, Louisiana and Laurie Delk of San Diego, California and two great grandsons Dylan Davis of New Orleans and Elijah Kozarec of San Diego. She also has a surviving sister, Mae Clark of Knightdale, NC.
Ruby was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church and the McFarland Bible Class for many years and served the congregation as a Stephen Minister. She was a volunteer at the Presbyterian Home for over 30 years bringing flowers from her garden and her beautiful smile to comfort those who needed her. Over the years she also volunteered on such charity groups as the Heart Fund, Cerebral Palsy, and Meals on Wheels.
Funeral services will be held at Christ United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 5 with ministers Matt Farabow and Jeff Martin officiating. Entombment will follow in Floral Garden Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends and family at Sechrest Funeral Home from 7-9 on Thursday evening. The family requests memorials be directed to Christ United Methodist Church or the Hospice Home of High Point.
