Virgil Lee Cunningham

Virgil Lee Cunningham, 77, of Archdale, NC, passed away June 25, 2025, in High Point Regional Hospital after a brief illness following an injury. He was born May 30, 1948, in Virginia, a son of the late L.V. Cunningham and Ovie Reynolds Cunningham.

Virgil was a Vietnam Veteran and proudly served his country. He loved fishing, hiking, and being with his grandchildren. Virgil was a kind and gentle man who was always willing to help when needed. He will be greatly missed and remembered by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Cunningham and Billy Cunningham.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Linda Portis Cunningham of the home; sons, Chad Cunningham and Ernie Akins; daughters, Tracy H. Flores and April Cunningham; 10 grandchildren, Layla, Lily, Chad Jr., Brandon, Josh, Jonte, Seth, Miklo, Kirsten, and Nicholas; 10 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Darrell Cunningham and Ray Cunningham of Reidsville.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date for his family.
