Wilma Jean Lawson passed away on November 12, 2025, at the age of 88 following a brief illness.
Wilma was born on March 4, 1937 in Tazewell, Virginia, a daughter of the late Fred and Bessie Horne McNew. She loved her family, cooking and her many pets. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lawson and her brother, Roger Lee McNew.
Surviving are her daughter, Debbie Whitfield (Jerry); a son, Randy Lawson; three grandsons, Brian Moncus (Phouvilay), Shawn Lawson (Kate) and David Lawson; four great-children, Ethan and Megan Moncus, William and George Lawson; two sisters, Sylvia Hash and Sherry Leija and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Wilma's life will be held at a later date.
