Zelle Marie Roach

Zelle was born in Ashland, GA, January 21, 1926, a daughter of the late R. Monroe Lowder and Vida Mangum Lowder. She received her RN degree from the High Point Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. Zelle worked for area physicians, including the offices of Dr. Cheek for 27 years and Dr. Rostand for 10 years, retiring in 1991. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, William H. Roach, who passed away in 2007; two sisters, Sybil Brady and Carolyn Thompson.

Surviving are a daughter, Lynn Walton and husband Gale; a son, Mark Roach and wife Sandra; a sister, Peggy Long and husband Robert (Buddy); five grandchildren, Andy Walton and wife Andrea, Blair Walton and wife Katina, Adam Roach, Matt Walton and Mary Beth Roach; four great-grandchildren, Isabelle Walton, Emily Walton, Nathan Walton and Indigo Walton; and great-grand-dog, Rhett Roach.

A graveside service will held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Floral Garden Park Cemetery by the Rev. Tom Barron. The family will receive friends at Davis Funerals & Cremations Friday 6:30 until 8:30 and at other times the home of Lynn and Gale Walton.
