James Paton Stewart III known to those who loved him as Jim, Dad, Pops, Coach and PaPa Jim, passed away at age 63 on August 9, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Rachel Stewart and his sister, Deborah Sain. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his wife, Denise; children, James Stewart (Heather Poprafsky), Steven (Ashley) Stewart and Bailey Stewart; grandchildren, J, Aliyana, Bentley and Tessa Jo; and brothers, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Redford, Michigan, he graduated from Bishop Borgess High School in 1974. During his professional career he worked at Ford Motor Company until retiring in 2007. Jim was a long time resident of White Lake, Michigan, where he was very active in the local football community. He coached at the youth and High School (Lakeland) levels for many years. His passion for football impacted many people.
Jim was always there for those who needed him and never hesitated to happily lend a hand. His kind spirit and generous nature will be missed by all.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm and Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 10:00am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00am at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road, Highland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or Henry Ford Hospice.
