Hello
Barb, aka “ Nana Barb“ was a loving, kind and accepting mother in law to me for 24 yrs.

The first time I met her in 1989, was at her home where Dan and she greeted me for the first the time. She welcome me to home and to the family. I remember the meal because Stephan had told me all about Barbs “boil dinner” it was Corn beef and cabbage with potatoes and carrots. It was his favourite. The dish became a favourite dish I would later make for our family when Stephan and I were married. Honestly, If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t know and come to love corn beef and cabbage. I still make it the same way like that first time.

Her kindness and love to was special. She loved my children Kelsea and Darian, her first grandchildren and was the best Nana Barb. She doted on Kelsea and called her a “Doll Baby” during our routine family dinner get together. Kelsea still has the giant RaggedyAnn doll she gave her for her birthday, And I still have the blankets she hand made for each of my children at their birth.

I will always cherish her continued acceptance of me after Stephan and I divorce. She still made me feel welcome though I was now outside and feeling basically abandon.

I wish her safe travels on her journey to freedom and peace. I will be making her infamous cherry loaves this holiday in honour of her.

She holds a special place in my heart.

Daniel, you’ve lost your best friend, companion and wife. My heart grieves with you. My deepest condolences for your lost.

Love and blessing to you always
