

Born in Dearborn, MI, Cathy was the beloved daughter of Walter and Emily Rozanski. Cathy's professional journey was marked by a deep dedication to helping others. Dr. Cathy Rozanski, known to her students as Dr. R., earned a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from Wayne State University. She practiced OT at Beaumont Hospital for 11 years before joining the faculty of Baker College in 1995. Cathy continued her education by completing a master’s degree from Central Michigan University in Higher Education and a Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy from Chatham University. She attained the rank of Full Professor in her 29 years at Baker College. Her dedication to the Occupational Therapy Program was admired by colleagues and students alike. Her clinical and teaching skills elevated the quality and reputation of the program. Cathy provided guidance and support to hundreds of students allowing them to attain their professional goals. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
Cathy's love for animals was well-known and she generously shared this passion with others. Her kindness extended beyond her professional life into her personal relationships. She devoted herself to caring for her entire family and those she considered family, especially her cherished nieces and nephews. Her affection for them was boundless, and she delighted in letting them name her pets, always choosing their favorites.
Cathy was a person of deep faith and acceptance, never judgmental and always open-hearted. Her giving spirit and compassion were evident in every aspect of her life, from her professional endeavors to her personal relationships. Her legacy of compassion and selflessness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Cathy is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Emily Rozanski and niece Evelyn Rozanski. She is survived by her siblings Walter (Dorthy) Rozanski, Susan (William) Napoleone, Ronald (Suzi) Rozanski, Richard (Deanne) Rozanski, Jerome (Laurie) Rozanski, Timothy (Cathy Rios) Rozanski, and Michael (Karen) Rozanski; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and countless very close friends.
Visitation for Cathy will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Friday, August 16, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM with rosary service on Friday at 7:00 PM at Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, located at 3295 E Highland Rd, Highland, MI 48356. An instate will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Perpetua Parish, located at 134 Airport Rd, Waterford Twp, MI 48327.
