Claire Tesolin, born June 1, 1929, lived a full and gracious life, and will always be remembered for her patience, her beauty and gentleness. Family and friends carry countless wonderful stories of the time they spent with her, and many of them lovingly measuring her boundless patience against the indomitable spirit of her husband. A loving and kind daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Claire gave herself wholeheartedly to the people she loved.
She grew up in Royal Oak, where she graduated from high school in 1947, and afterward went to work for a telephone company. In 1951 she married her late husband, Ron Tesolin, and left her job to raise their children and help Ron in his tile business. The two were married for 62 wonderful years. Together they had four children: Ron Tesolin Jr. (Gale), Tom Tesolin (Cindy), Laura Tesolin, and Carol Tesolin Caswell (Paul).
Claire devoted her life not only to her family but to her church family as well. She sewed quilts for Lutheran World Relief, joined Ron on building projects with Laborers for Christ, helped with Vacation Bible School, and gave her time to outreach programs.
Claire was preceded in death by her husband, Ron; her brother, Edwin Burrows; and her sister and best friend, Charlotte Burrows Homeister. She is survived by her four children and her grandchildren - Amy, Andrea, Tom Jy., Phillip, Cathy, Donna, Diane, Kate, Kristina, Tyler, Vanessa, and Alyssa as well as 19 great-grandchildren. She met each of them with warm hugs and a ready smile, never quick to judge, wishing only for their happiness.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and compassion. We take comfort in knowing she waits for us in Heaven, ready to greet those she loves with the same smile she always had.
A visitation for Claire will take place on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at the Elton Black and Son Highland Chapel from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM Friday, July 31, 2026 at Faith Lutheran Church. An instate hour will precede the service at 10:00 AM.
Memorial donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church in Claire's honor.
