

Coreene Ann Krawiec of Highland, MI passed away on Wednesday October 22 peacefully in her sleep at the age of 81. She was born on December 19, 1943 in Detroit, MI where she grew up and learned the values of family and hard work. She was the proud mother of 3 beautiful children – Laura, Jay and Kyle and an even prouder Grandma to 2 beautiful grandsons – Justin and Norman.
She worked as a beautician and hairdresser, first in Detroit from the 60s until the 80s, and then in Highland into the late 90s. Known for her exquisite style, Coreene had a great career taking care of many dos and making some of her best friends.
She put her artistic gifts to work on both canvas and sculpture, but her biggest passion was her home garden. Her effect on a space was undeniable, sowing life where there was none and bringing style where it was needed. The flowers and trees she carefully cultivated created a gorgeous and peaceful sanctuary for her family and friends.
Coreene had a “Clint Eastwood” attitude and she faced the trials of life with unmatched strength and resilience. She always had a twinkle in her eye and a wonderful sense of humor which will never be forgotten.
She is preceded in death by her parents Vada McClaren and Norman George Hamilton, brother Norman Roger Hamilton, daughter Laura Ann Krawiec, son Anthony Jay Krawiec, and husband Anthony Jacob Krawiec.
She is survived by her grandsons Justin Webber and Norman Krawiec, her son and daughter-in-law Kyle and Marin Krawiec, her daughter-in-law Tina Smith and her partner Robert Eghotz.
The family would like to thank good friend Paula Rice for her friendship, care and compassion she’s shown before and again in the final days.
A celebration of her life is planned for May 2026 in Highland.
In lieu of flowers, Coreene’s wishes were for donations to be made to The Salvation Army and Michigan War Dog Memorial.
