Beloved husband of Roxane for 63 years. Loving father of Kimberly (Dave) LaDuke and Kristin (Michael) Stratton. Treasured grandfather of Melanie LaDuke, Rebecca (Zak) Lotter, Andrew (Alyssa) Stratton and Jodi (Brian) Sarkella. Proud great-grandfather of Kinsley and Kollyns Lotter, Brynley Stratton and Forrest Sarkella. Brother of Earl (Shirley) Mellema, Betty (Bob) Ericsson and Joyce Johnson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Alvin Mellema, Gloria Jellum and Dean "Butch" Mellema.
Dale was an Air Force Veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and an avid fisherman. His family was very important to him and held a special place in his heart. He will be very much missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 4800 Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield. The family will receive friends at church from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am.
