Ferris, founder of Mantle Ministries, went home to be with the Lord after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke on May 17, 2018.
Ferris, who lived in Howell, Michigan, served in many different ways. He was a United States Marine, an ordained minister, played Santa for the kids of friends and families, a black belt in Judo and Karate, musician and involved in many different ministries.
His latest passion/ministry was to serve those who have served this country. He did this by teaching faith based courses for those struggling with trauma. These courses included Reboot (PTSD combat recovery) and Firstline (PTSD recovery for first responders).
Beloved husband of Debbra Jo Ferris. Loving father of Leviticus (Jennifer) Ferris, Elijah (Katrina) Ferris, the late Benjamin Ferris and Sarah Joy (Nathan) Pomeroy. Proud grandfather of Luke, Olivia, Annabelle, Davey, Aurora, Benjamin and Lizzey. Cherished son of Beverly and Ken Wise. Dear brother of Melissa (Mark) Chapman. Treasured nephew of Michael (Noreene) Marshall.
Memorial Visitation will be held Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm and Monday, June 18, 2018 from 10:00am until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00am at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road, Highland. Burial of Cremated Remains with Military Honors will be held Monday, June 18, 2018 at 1:30pm at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the David Ferris Memorial Fund.
