David was born February 12, 1967, in Pontiac, the son of Mr. & Mrs. David and Judi (House) Ragatz. When he met Nancy Strait on a blind date, it was love at first sight! Still in shock at the news of Dave's passing. to Nancy, David and Shelby; Logan, Layne and I are so very sorry and saddened to hear this. Dave was a fixture in GB athletics especially football. He did so much for the youth of Grand Blanc. Even when his son was done with youth football, he still stayed on to be out every Saturday helping out wherever was needed at the fields. Many fond memories from the press box at East Middle School. Our community mourns the passing of "one of the good ones".

So sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. The memory we will always have of Dave is when he played the best joke on Ricky. A few years ago when Ricky and Dave were working on a job together, Ricky was telling Dave about how he needed to go spread corn out for the deer at his blind. When Ricky got out to the field to spread the corn, he was wondering why the bag was heavier than normal. He came to find out when opening the bag that it was not full of corn but instead full of pea stone. Earlier that day, Dave had taken the bag of corn, dumped it out and replaced the corn with pea stone. Although Ricky was not thrilled about what had happened, he was able to laugh about it in the days after because he knew it was one of the best pranks someone could play on him.

Dave was such a wonderful person! He was so easy-going, friendly and helpful. I loved having conversations as we were coming & going next door during our daily routines. He never minded entertaining for your family and friends, even when get-togethers happened unexpectedly. Always had a smile on his face! One thing was for sure was his love for his wife & kids!
My heartfelt prayers go out to Nancy, Shelby and David. I know Dave’s memory will be carried on through all of you❤️
