Derrick Joseph Dearman

Derrick Joseph Dearman, of Highland Twp., MI, age 59, passed away on March 1, 2026. He will be remembered as a man who found his greatest joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life- time with family, the quiet of the outdoors, and the loyal companionship of his beloved dog Riley.

He was born on September 28, 1966 to Robert C. Dearman and Noreen Marie (DeShano) Nickell in Owosso, Michigan.

Derrick enjoyed hunting and fishing. Whether sitting in the woods at dawn or casting a line into the water for that big bass, he felt most at home in the outdoors.

Derrick graduated from ITT Technical Institute. He was employed at Oerlikon in Lake Orion as a technician.

Above all else, Derrick loved his family. He treasured the time spent with them and created many wonderful memories filled with laughter, stories, and shared adventures.

Derrick is survived by his children: Laun (Brandy) Dearman, Magon Dearman, Dalton Dearman and Austin Dearman; Grandfather of Madison, Landon, David, Aja, Dylan, Fawn, Alex, Ashley, and Madison; great-grandfather of Arianna, Reya, Elizabeth; brother of Robert, Fred, Shelia Hess, Bill, Robin, Chris and pamela Staley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Derrick was preceded in death by his grandson Logan.
