Douglas B. Daves, (Papa) age 78 of Highland, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019. Beloved husband of Jean for over 60 years, loving father of Cindy Volz and Rob Daves, grandfather of Kyle Daves and Mollie Daves, brother of Joe (Trish) Daves, David Daves, Randy Daves, Doris (Lowell) Doepker and Barbara Workman. Doug enjoyed working in the yard. His interests include motorcycles, cars, watching western movies and fishing. He was a kind man who would do anything for anyone. He never met a stranger that didn't end up his friend. He will be missed by his loving family and friends. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, April 12, 2019 at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 3295 East Highland Rd., Highland, MI 48356. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Interment will be in Rose Center Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the family.

A kinder, gentler soul and human being you will never find. A special man indeed!! Whether it be a chance meeting at the hardware store for 5 minutes or a full afternoon, your day would always be brightened if you spent any time with Doug. Rest in Peace Doug. Jean, Cindy and Rob, all my heartfelt condolences to you. God Bless you all and prayers for you as you try to heal.
