He was the beloved husband of Patricia for 72 years and a loving father to Kathleen (John) Burpee, Lori Trudeau, Mark (Pamela) Trudeau, Michael Trudeau, Kimberly (Larry) Rundell, Christopher Trudeau and preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Pearce. He was a proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Edgar was also a brother to Michael T. Trudeau and the late Jacqueline Reeber. He was also sadly preceded in death by two grandchildren, Abbigail Trudeau and Mitchell Rundell, and one great-great-grandchild, Ronald (Ronnie) Pearce.
Upon graduating from Holy Redeemer high school, Edgar joined the Naval Reserve, drafted into the Army, and served during the Korean War. After his service, he went to work at General Motors for 10 years, before being pursued by Ford Motor Company, where he retired as an engineering manager after a 37-year career. Remarkably, he achieved one of the highest career levels at Ford without a college degree. He was accredited with inventing several patents with both GM and Ford and was actively working on yet another one at age 87.
Edgar was a hard-working and dedicated family man, leaving behind a legacy of achievements and cherished memories, such as camping trips around Michigan, and other states, exploring history and fun places to visit. He also loved to read and learn and work on his various investments. Edgar’s biggest passion, however, was the building of his lake house in Grayling, Michigan, a project he undertook with his wife and children showcasing his hands-on spirit. He was a member of Saint Mary of the Snows Catholic Church in Milford and the American Legion.
