I loved living in Midland, MI and having regular visits with Aunt Pauline and Uncle Eldon. One Thanksgiving they came to Midland and it was so cold and snowy that I placed the Honeybaked Ham in the garage and then failed to remember Missy, our dog, was out there, too. When I went to retrieve the dog and ham, I found she had taken a big bite out of it. Uncle Eldon pulled out his pocket knife and trimmed around it! He said, “No one will notice!” I wish I had a dime for every time he made me laugh remembering all the wonderful memories we shared!

I remember Uncle Eldon always smiling and his laugh. He worked for Dad at the gas station on burlington, so Gloria and I saw him every day when we were taking the city bus to Blessed Sacrament School. I remember meeting his Mom(Irene) and Dad(Joe) when they lived in North Kansas City and when he was dating Pauline. He was always a happy site and I loved talking to him about the different fun family times. But the one thing that I see when I think of Uncle Eldon is these pictures. This was my first communion, Aunt Pauline stood up for me, then after we all went home to our new house in Gracemore and took pictures. There was many memories with both of them. I miss them and love them both.
