

Born on July 12, 1935, in Hempstead, New York, Frances was the cherished daughter of Ida Mae McCue and Michael Angelo Rizzo. She was the devoted wife of the late Charles A. Scanlon, with whom she shared a beautiful life and raised eight children.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, her siblings Mary Dunnder, Rosemary (Norm) LeBrun, and Jimmy Rizzo, her son Michael Scanlon, and a great-granddaughter Kaitlyn Parker.
She is survived by her loving children: Teresa Janni, Charles A. (Ronda) Scanlon Jr., Jeanne (John) Kirkpatrick, Robert (Karen) Scanlon, Kathleen (Robert) McCorquodale, Debra (David) Westervelt, Kevin Scanlon, and daughter-in-law Leah Dzierzawski. She is also survived by her dear brothers Mickey Rizzo and John (Joan) Rizzo.
Frances was a cherished grandmother to 27 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Her large, loving family was her greatest joy, and her warmth and kindness extended to countless nieces, nephews, and friends.
A proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post 9914, Frances will be remembered for her generosity, strength, and unwavering love for her family.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, located at 3295 East Highland Road, Highland, MI 48356, on October 16, 2025, from 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

A private service and interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan, where Frances will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Charles.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
