Gail Frances Preston, age 76, of Highland, died Thursday, March 19, 2020 at her home. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Herbert; her four children: Michael (Jill) Norton, Kelly (Kevin) Carr, Rebecca (Michael) Muldoon, and Michael (Priya) Preston; ten grandchildren: Anthony, Reilly, Brennan, Kaiti, Bryant, Grace, Alyssa, Connor, Trevor, and Spencer; her sister Donna Carl; nephew, Don Carl; and two nieces: Sharon Vela and Rochelle Soto.
Gail was born July 7, 1943, in Detroit, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Cecil Olyn and Frances (Carpenter) Henderson. She and Herbert Preston were married on February 14, 1987, and shared thirty-three wonderful years together. At the age of eighteen, Gail began her career as a cashier at Farmer Jack, where she worked for forty-two years, until her retirement in 2003. In her free time, Gail enjoyed spending time in her garden, and working on her art. She was a phenomenal artist, whose creative talents ranged from sketching with colored pencils to painting portraits of all ten of her grandchildren. Most of all, Gail loved to spend time with her family; especially her grandchildren! She will be missed by all who knew her.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Frances.
Due to the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 virus, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention has enacted a shelter-in-place order in the state of Michigan. For this reason, visitation and services for Gail have been postponed. Further details regarding service times and visitation hours will be announced at a later date.
