Geneva C. McClintock
January 20, 1924 – July 8, 2019
Geneva McClintock of Suttons Bay, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019 at age 95 surrounded by her family at the American House Oakland in Pontiac, Michigan.
Geneva was born to Eli and Hilda Widgren on January 20, 1924. She was the third of five children. The family resided in Bear Lake for many years where they managed a farm. She also resided in Hazel Park where she graduated from Hazel Park High School. Geneva married William J. McClintock on December 25, 1941. They were married for 66 years.
Geneva was a long time member of the Suttons Bay Congregational Church where she was a beloved singer in the choir. She was a strong woman of faith, family and had a good work ethic. Her family and friends will always remember her fun-loving spirit and spunkiness. Her favorite past times were music, gardening, bird watching and dogs.
She is survived by her sister Carol (Elroy) Urbanus, daughter, Geneva (Leonard) Secquer and grandchildren, Brenda (James) Tourtillott, Jeffrey (Sonya) Niazy, Gregory (Lori) McClintock and Keith McClintock. Great grandchildren, Alexander, Nathanael, Amanda, Julia and Jacquelyn, and Mitchell. Great-great grandchildren, Ava, Autumn and Addison. She is preceded in death by her husband, William J. McClintock sons; William McClintock and Steven McClintock and daughter-in-law, Thelma along with her parents and three siblings.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Suttons Bay Congregational Church, 218 W. Madison Street in Suttons Bay, Michigan.
