George A. Scarcliff, age 81, of Highland; passed away on October 24, 2010. Mr. Scarcliff was the owner of Dennis Cartage Trucking Company. Once he retired from the trucking business, he became involved in fixing cars and then moving on after a couple of years to selling Real Estate through Century21. His hobbies included Bowling, playing cards, and interacting with people. He will be sadly missed. Beloved husband of the late Margaret; proud father of Shirley Poole, Dennis (Ernestine) Poole, Ronald Poole; caring grandfather of Heather, Tiscia, Jamie, Cindy, Ronald; great-grandfather of several; dear brother of Robert (Kelly) Scarcliff. Mr. Scarcliff was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. The funeral service will be Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at 5 p.m. at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road, Highland. The visitation hours will be on Wednesday from 2 until the time of service at 5 p.m; cremation will follow; memorial donations to Michigan Humane Society and Hospice; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
