He was a kind hearted man, a devoted husband, and a loving father and grandfather whose presence brought joy and happiness to all who knew him.
Howard shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife Carolyn. A partnership built on love, loyalty and having fun together. Howard was a classic car enthusiast. He made a living and found great joy in the beauty, craftsmanship, and history of vintage automobiles. Howard owned a 1941 Cadillac limousine and a 1935 Auburn. He and Carolyn took many road trips in these cars, enjoying the cars almost as much as enjoying the time they spent together.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn, his children: Kim (the late Bill Johnson) Varnon, Keri (Randy) Cameron and Kami (Fred) Winstanley; four grandchildren: Kyler, Abigayle, Maddy and Lucy; and 4 great grandchildren: Stella, Hunter, Cameron and Devin.
Howard was a proud Army Veteran, and his ashes will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery in the Spring.
