Jennifer Lynn Humitz, affectionately known as Jen, was a beacon of love and joy whose life journey began on September 17, 1981, in the heart of Dearborn, Michigan. Her radiant spirit graced the world until her sudden passing on October 15, 2025, in White Lake, Michigan. Jen's life was a tapestry woven with the golden threads of kindness, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to her beloved family and friends.
Jen's story is one of enduring love, a narrative that began on a beautiful day at St. John's Church in Plymouth, Michigan, on August 19, 2006, when she united in marriage with her soulmate, Jason Humitz. Together, they embarked on a life filled with laughter, love, and the joyous chaos that comes with raising five wonderful children: Brenden, Brady, Gavin, Carter, and Adalyn. Jen was a sister who shared an unbreakable bond with Karen (Terry) Monette, and an aunt who showered love upon Connor, Delilah, and Brooke Monette. Her life was further enriched by the warmth and support of her in-laws, Ron and Judy Humitz and family.
Jen graduated from Churchill High School in Livonia, Michigan, and earned her associate's degree from Lansing Community College. She built a meaningful career as a Sonographer at Metro Obstetrics & Gynecology in Commerce Township, where her skill and compassion left a lasting impact on countless lives.
As a mother, Jen was unparalleled. She found her greatest pride in her children, constantly seeking to turn every moment into an unforgettable memory. Her home was a hub of hospitality, where friends and family were always welcomed with open arms and where traditions, both old and new, were celebrated with vigor and joy. After the loss of her parents, Henry and Kathy Stanick, Jen became the keeper of family lore, ensuring that the legacy of love and togetherness would continue to flourish.
Jen's zest for life extended beyond the walls of her home. She relished the opportunity to travel, with trips to Florida, the Keys, Arizona, St. Thomas and Costa Rica ranking among her favorite adventures. Her love for animals was boundless, and her home was a sanctuary for all of God's creatures, reflecting her compassionate and nurturing soul.
Her personality was a delightful mix of sparkle and spunk, embodying a girly girl's charm with an impressive ability to hustle and surprise, as she did with Jason's memorable fishing trip in Costa Rica. Jen's emotional depth was profound, and her care for others ran as deep as the ocean itself. Jen embodied the true spirit of friendship, being an extraordinary mother, wife, and friend who always made adventures, unforgettable experiences filled with laughter and cherished memories. As a supermom, Jen selflessly managed her children’s sports teams, spreading joy and making each child feel special with her thoughtful, personalized gestures, such as designing unique door signs for far away tournaments.
Together with Jason, Jen recently realized a dream of acquiring a beautiful cottage in Mio, Michigan, where the seeds of tradition and family were sown, promising to bloom for generations to come. As Jason watched her rake leaves at their new retreat, her smile was a testament to their shared vision of a cabin that would be a haven for family, traditions, and cherished memories.
In their life together, Jen and Jason were a testament to the beauty of partnership, complementing each other perfectly, even amidst their shared indecisiveness. Their decisions, always made with family at the forefront, were imbued with love and balance.
Jen was the embodiment of unconditional love, Jason's guiding light and rock, while her own life was a testament to the transformative power of family. As a devoted mother, Jen's existence was defined by her unwavering dedication to nurturing, protecting, and inspiring her children, while sharing a profound bond with Jason, the love of her life. Jen possessed a unique gift for organization and a passion for planning unforgettable family adventures. Balancing a thriving career with the demands of motherhood, Jen effortlessly juggled her children's activities, radiating joy and enthusiasm as their biggest cheerleader. With a heart of gold, Jen embodied the spirit of a Mama Bear, fiercely devoted to her family and generously extending love and support to those around her as an extraordinary wife, mother, sister and daughter. Jen also cherished her friendships, particularly with her beloved best friend Lindsey Swope. We will forever remember Jen for her captivating smile, infectious laughter, kindness, and boundless love.
