

A 1947 Graduate of Monroe High School where he was President of his Senior Class and won the State Diving Championship. He was awarded a scholarship to Michigan State University.
On June 24, 1950 he married the love of his life, Nida G. Payne. After 66 years of marriage, Nida went to be with Jesus on August 28, 2016.
He worked for Sealtest Dairy and Co-Owned FANJ, a refrigeration company with Ferris Miller. In 1963 he took a position in the camping ministry at Lakeside E.U.B. camp in Brighton MI and moved to Onstead MI in the early 80’s to continue his service at Judson Collins United Methodist Camp. He and Nida retired to the Phoenix AZ area in 1993 where he pursued his love of golf, returning to the Michigan/Ohio area in 2007.
He is survived by his daughter Robin (Rod) Stowits, Montpelier, OH and his son Thomas (Karla) Boylan, Brighton, MI, six grandchildren, Patti (Jason) Rockey, John Boylan, Jason Boylan, Jennifer (Chris) King, Denise (Kaleb) Moore, Stephanie (John) Vanover and Thirteen great grandchildren . He has one sister JoAnn (Lester) Schlump of Ida, MI. Two nephews Mike Schlump, Jeff (Shelley) Schlump and one niece Teri Schlump.
A memorial service will be held at Roseland Memorial Park, 13200 S. Dixie Hwy, La Salle MI. 48145 at 11am October 29, 2016.
