Joseph John Piwko, age 74 of HIghland Twp., Michigan passed away at his home on Saturday, April 22, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 12, 1949 to John and Helen Piwko. He graduated college with a Bachelor's in Engineering and went on to have a very successful career at Ford Motor Company. Joe was one of several engineers that worked on the exhaust systems for Mustang through the 1980’s - 1990's. He loved spending time with family, boating and fishing with his grandsons, and golfing with friends. He was a member of Church of the Holy Spirit since its inception and he was a proud 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Assembly 8500.
He is survived by his beloved wife Laura; his loving sons: Joseph Piwko Jr. and Anthony (Jennifer) Piwko; his grandchildren: Anthony Jr. and Emerson; his siblings: Bernadette Faivre, Michael (Joan) Piwko and Barbara Piwko. He is also survived by many cousin, nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Church of the Holy Spirit, 3700 N. Harvey Lake Rd., Highland, MI 48356. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 27, 2023 with a 7:00 pm Knights of Columbus Rosary at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 3295 East Highland Rd., Highland, Michigan. Mr. Piwko will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Memorial Donations may be made to Church of the Holy Spirit.
