Joy Marie May

Joy Marie May, age 74 of Highland, Michigan passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026. Joy was born in Pontiac, Michigan on February 17, 1952 to Ernest and Ruth (Gundrum) Daniels. They preceded her in death. Joy was a RN for many years in the West Bloomfield area. She was a member of the Eagles. She loved going to the Renaissance Festival. Joy was a talented seamstress. She created many beautiful period dresses.

She was the beloved wife of Richard for 28 years; loving mother of Joshua Maxx May, the late Gary Adler and the late Joel Adler; proud grandmother of Andrew, Alicia and Paige; great grandmother of Dallas Boo and Roamy Rainn; sister of Beverly Vargus,

Charlene Esralian and Jerry Daniels. She is also survived by her loving service dog Prudence.

The Funeral Service will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 3295 East Highland Rd., Highland, MI 48356. Visitation will be on Friday June 12, 2026 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm and on Saturday from 2:00 pm until the time of service. Memorial donations may be made to the family.

Joy will be laid to rest at a later date in Milford Memorial Cemetery at a private service with her family.
