June Marie Thomas

June Marie Thomas, of Highland, Michigan, passed away on September 12, 2025. A spirited and proud southern woman, June lived her life with strength and passion. She had a spitfire spirit and a heart full of love. June enjoyed many simple joys in life. She loved crocheting, often creating beautiful pieces with her own hands. June found joy in watching golf on TV. She also had a fondness for casinos, where she enjoyed the thrill and sounds of the slot machines. June also enjoyed playing games. She was always ready for a round of dominoes.

Faith played an important role in her life, and she was involved in her church community at St. Anastasia Roman Catholic Church in Troy when she lived there. Family was June's greatest treasure. She was a proud and devoted Grandmother. Her love for them shone brightly, and the name "Mema" became a term of endearment not just for her grandkids but also for many that came to know her.

Known for her strong southern values.

Loving mother of Roslynn (Mark) Woloszyk, Greg (Maureen) Thomas, Jeff (Millie) Thomas, Dru (David) Thomas, Aimee (Steve) Manning and the late Mark Thomas, Lori (Hal) McLean and Scott (Karen) Thomas; proud mema to Theresa, Sean, Don, Kevin, Kristy, Michael, Amanda, Geoffry, Gabby, Anna, Tom, Jack and the late J.J.; sister of Barbara Byrd and the late J.T. Champy.

The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 3295 East Highland Rd., Highland, Michigan 48356. The family will recieve visitors from 10:00 am until the time of service.
