Karen’s first job was at Kmart when she was 16 years old and it remained her only place of employment, through thick and thin, until her retirement. She was active with their Giving Tree program at Christmas time every year as well as March of Dimes and Relay for Life. In her early adult years she enjoyed road trips, the beach, x-country skiing, canoeing, camping and other outdoor activities. She was always looking for a little adventure. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking and crafts. She could always be relied on for
cooking advice.
In her later years she was passionate with her involvement in the White Lake Historical Society and in the preservation of the White Lake Township’s history and the Kelly-Fisk Farm. She served on the Board of Directors from 2013 until her passing.
Through it all, she most enjoyed family get togethers. She loved her nieces and nephews and their kids too and enjoyed spending time with them all. She was generous and giving.
Karen is survived by her brother Bob (Debbie) Saul, Janet (Jim) Callen, Barb (Mark) Allison and Kim Saul, by wonderful nieces and nephews and many fun-loving, sweet, engaging grand nieces and nephews. She was their Kiki. She is also survived by one godson.
In accordance with Karen's wishes, cremation will take place. A public memorial service has not been scheduled, but will be announced at a later date. Remembrance donations may be made in her name to the White Lake Historical Society, 7525 Highland Road, White Lake, Michigan 48383 or to a charitable cause close to your heart.
