Kathleen Joy Selke, age 67, of Highland Twp., Michigan, passed away on Thursday October 1, 2026. Kathleen was a hardworking, caring, and talented woman whose life was devoted to her family, her work, and the people she loved.
Kathy was a manicurist who also taught at Brighton Institute of Cosmetology for over 30 years. Her passion for teaching touched the lives of many students over the years.
Outside of work, Kathy enjoyed crafting. She loved working in her yard and spent many hours making it a place she loved to be. She cherished the time she spent visiting with her friends, many of which were clients over the years. She also was a team leader for Rebuilding Together-Oakland County.
Kathy was a true hard worker who gave her best to everything she did. Whether she was teaching, caring for her family, helping others or enjoying her yard, she did it with dedication and heart.
She is survived by her daughter Richelle Selke and her sister Tammy Aquilina, her Aunt Linda Godin, Richard Selke, nieces and many cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, October 9, 2026 at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 3295 East Highland Rd., Highland, MI 48356. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm until the time of service.
