He is survived by his sister/best friend Aidianne (David) and his niece and nephew Lochlan and Eliza. Keeghan is also survived by grandparents Sally and Bob Savageau and Hazel Stangis. Aunts Sue, Mimi (Joe), Cherie, Sherie and Uncles Craig (Paula), Rob, Rich (Janet), Ron and Russ. Cousins Dan, Elizabeth, Kevin, Robert, Jennifer, Stephanie, Shaun, Joe, Thomas, Kristopher, Sarah, Emily, Courtney, Westley, Whitney, Avery, Luca, William, Matthew, Nicholas, Colleen, Jen, Stephen and more friends and extended family then we could ever name but each one of you touched his life profoundly. Keeghan was passionate about music and nature; he loved to research things of interest and have long philosophical conversations. Keeghan cared deeply for his friends and family and as of late, his employer made him feel like he truly belonged in this world and for the first time in many years, he was truly trying to make that a reality. Keeghan's presence on this earth will be dearly missed by those he touched. His soul is finally free and his body at peace. A simple memorial will be held at Elton Black Funeral Home in Highland, MI on Sunday, September 26, from 12:00 to 6:00. All are welcome to attend and bring pictures, memories or a lovely rock to place on his table. Refreshments will be served throughout the day. The family requests that no flowers or plants be sent, Keeghan always thought that was a waste of money that could be better spent. Donations in his honor can be made to any charity that honors nature and animals. Suggestions would be the Detroit Zoo where he spent some of the happiest moments of his childhood, The Bell Isle Aquarium where he marched in protest when it closed in 2005 (since reopened), Detroit Nature Conservatory because Keeghan adored plants or Community Cats of Canton who tirelessly works to control the feral cat population. Plant a tree in his honor, take a walk in the woods and gather mushrooms, nurture an animal, or walk the shore searching for stones and know in your heart that these are gifts Keeghan will continue to give us all throughout our lives. Nature is where Keeghan truly felt connected and at peace.
