We just heard about Kelly’s passing today and we are so sorry for this great loss. Kelly was full of fun! We have many memories at your pool house, he especially liked the slide!  Kelly was a fantastic Euchre player and rarely could anyone beat his score!

Kelly and I were pledge bothers at Beta Theta Pi at Michigan State. Many great memories over the years at the Rock the Garage party and catching up with each other. Kelly also helped me get my first job at his Dad's ad agency!  I will miss you, Kilo, #1.

Wow!  I am absolutely shocked and saddened by the sudden loss of Kelly. We shared many rounds of golf together (one just a few weeks ago)  and worked alongside each other in several different capacities over the years. Kelly was not only a true gentleman but also a loyal friend. My heart goes out to his family, who he spoke about often and I know he loved deeply. Please accept my sincerest condolences during this difficult time.

I can’t begin to express how sorry I am for your loss. I  know that the love and support of your family and friends will help you through this awful time . Please know that you can count on us for any need

Mary Pat and I are so very sorry that Kelly passed. I’m so shocked and saddened. He beat me in 150’s on the football field, he always made me laugh, he called his dad by his first name, that was strange, he was always up for a pool game, he drove his stick shift car like a race car driver, jamming those gears. 1-5, he protected me on the football field from the guys who would take a cheap shot, we dated the same girls, he was good looking, he was always fun and witty and up to something. I had the incredible pleasure of working with Kelly at Stone August back in the late 90s. By then, he was already a familiar name in our house, as he had become both a trusted advisor and a dear friend to my father, Ron Stone. Kelly was truly the glue that held that agency together. He wore every hat imaginable — executive, creative, media, production, vendor, and most importantly, friend. If you wanted something done, you went to Kelly. If you needed to find something, you went to Kelly. And if you were uncertain about anything, you asked Kelly. His loyalty was unwavering, and his dedication unmatched.

Kelly was smart, funny, kind, and had the best marketing sense. We spent countless hours together — sometimes laughing, sometimes screaming — and often reminding ourselves, “this isn’t rocket science” (which, fittingly, became the name of his agency when he went out on his own).

After I left the agency and my father passed, Kelly continued to share his amazing marketing knowledge. And while we didn’t speak regularly, he always found ways to check in, and he was often the very first to like and celebrate my accomplishments on LinkedIn. That small gesture meant so much.

Kelly was a consummate human being — kind, trustworthy, and a devoted family man. I remember many late nights when our conversations turned to his children, who were always at the center of his heart. I am so deeply saddened by his loss. He was truly one of a kind.

May his memory be a blessing. I like to think that right now he is reunited with Ron, joking about short overcoaters and all the other foolish things that made us laugh.

Best dad and coach (grandpa)! We miss you beyond belief and wish you were here. Please watch over us. We need it! 🪽 🤍 Life is so short and unfair. I love you! Miss you coach forever! I’m waiting for a sign so I know you are okay.

Kelly and I were business partners for about 13 years.  Most business partnerships break apart in a couple of years. We evolved how we worked together over time and were always good about communicating with each other. Kelly was a class act who was very good at what he did. He loved cars, golf and his family.

Kelly was a friend, professional associate, and golfing buddy. His kindness, sense of humor, sharp advertising mind, and decent golf game were known to many in our community. He will be missed most of all by his beloved family but also by his many friends who loved him. I will remember him every time I tee it up. RIP and rest well Kelly.❤️

Kelly and I were introduced through business in 1986 and quickly became friends.

Kelly was only 26 years old then and that was almost 40 years ago.

We had everything in common. 

We both worked hard to succeed, loved to play golf together, and loved to tell jokes and laugh with our friends.

I am shocked and devastated to hear of his passing.

Doreen and I extend our deepest sympathy to Ellen, Michael, & Sarah and the entire Neill family.

Kelly was a great client that awarded us the opportunity to develop content for a myriad of his clients. He also was a fabulous supplier of advertising and marketing products for our companies. But, most of all he was a dear friend and golfing buddy who will certainly be missed.  Wishing all of the family the best during this trying time.

Kelly was my little brother. Boy did we have fun growing up. I toughened him up and helped make him fearless. I used to call him BW for Boy Wonder. He always tried to help his brother. When he decided to leave the corporate world behind, I was thrilled to give him an office in with me, and get him a desk, company phone line, and a beeper. It was a big deal to have a beeper that year. There won’t be a day go by that his sister Diane and I will miss him.
