Kyle Kaye Wittbrodt (age 66) of Hartland, MI, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep at her home Tuesday morning, June 14, 2022. Left to cherish her memory is her loving life-partner, W. Scott Gentry; her children: Eric Wittbrodt, and Sara (Bradley) Woods; her two granddaughters: Emerson and Elliot Woods (aka Emma and Ellie); her two sisters: Karen (Rick) Beardsley, and Kimberly (Michael) Thrasher; her nephews: Nathan (Jamie) Thrasher (c. Hudson and Ashton), Nicholas (Heather) Dombrowski (c. Haily and Claire), and Maxwell Beardsley.
Kyle was born September 1, 1955, in Newport News, Virginia, the daughter of Alvin and Barbara (Kurtz) Kirchoff. The oldest of four sisters, she grew up in Detroit, where she attended Redford High School (Class of 1973) and Wayne State University. Kyle later moved out to Highland (1983) and then Hartland (2005).
Kyle worked as the General Manager of Monthly Shopper Publications, an advertising book based in Milford, for over 35 years. She was loved not only as a co-worker but as a friend. Kyle loved being involved in the community and made an impact in the lives of so many throughout her time. She supported her children endlessly; never missing a dance performance or band/drum line competition if she could help it. For almost 40 years, her Bunco Girls kept her social calendar busy. Every holiday was spent together with her two sisters and all their families. More recently, Kyle could always be found enjoying her free time with her granddaughters, spending every Friday and Saturday with them. Their bond was so much more than that of a grandparent, she was a second mother to them. Some of Kyle’s fondest memories were made on camping trips around Michigan that she took with her family in their R.V. and relaxing in Mexico on vacation with Scott. She was a beautiful woman, and a kind, wonderful soul who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Kyle was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Barbara; and her sister, Kathy Ann Grant.
In accordance with Kyle’s wishes, cremation will take place. A Memorial Gathering will take place on Thursday, June 23, 2022, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road, Highland, Michigan 48356.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made in Kyle's memory to assist with college funds for her beloved grandbabies.
