Lisa was the loving mother of five children, and she cherished motherhood. She was always there for her children, supporting them in all their interests and dreams. She could be found taking them to sporting events or music lessons, volunteering in their classrooms and musicals, and cheering them on every step of the way. Her children knew they could always count on her at any time of the day.
Lisa was well-known for a smile that would light up the room and bring everyone close, whether she was greeting someone for the first time or for a life-long friend. She had a big, warm hug for everyone she loved and anyone who needed one.
Lisa also enjoyed bringing family and friends together. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings in her home, where there was always plenty of food, laughter and conversation. She loved to cook and was known for "out-doing herself" as hostess always.
Before becoming a full-time mother, she worked in finance and sales in the automotive industry. Her colleagues respected her intellect and conscientiousness. Later in life she found her talent as a special education teacher at Walled Lake Northern High School, where she touched the lives of many students in a very short time with her patience and respect for them. In between, she carried the family business as the manager and do-everything at Sportway of Waterford.
Lisa’s journey with cancer brought many challenges, but it also allowed her to form meaningful friendships with others who were facing similar battles. She became a source of encouragement and support for people also struggling with their survivor journey. She fought the good fight.
Above all else, Lisa was a woman of deep and unwavering faith. With her family, she had recently joined St. Patrick's Parish, with previous relationships at Our Lady of the Snows in Milford, Our Lady of Good Counsel in Plymouth, and Our Lady of Sorrows in Farmington. Her relationship with Christ, her devotion to the Blessed Mother, and her love for her family were the foundations upon which she built her life.
