Michael W. Genson

Michael W. Genson, age 91 of White Lake Twp., Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. He was born on April 27, 1934 to Anthony and Anna Gensorowski in Detroit, Michigan. Mike retired from General Motors after more than thirty years of employment. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to the casino, and hanging out by the pool in Florida where he spent his winters. He loved the summers at home on Cedar Island Lake with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were his greatest joy.

He is survived by his loving wife Mary of 70 years, his children Michael (Karen) Genson, Ronald (Susan) Genson and Cheryl Genson; his grandchildren: Michelle Dewey, Brandon (Heather) Genson, Ryan Genson and Nicole Genson; his great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Dalila, Ashton, Kiley, Oakley and Alyssa. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Jim Smithpeters and several nieces and nephews

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 3295 East Highland Rd., Highland, MI 48356. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 pm until the time of service. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
