Nancy was a woman whose life was defined by faith, compassion, and a deep love for family and others. Her devotion to the Lord guided every aspect of her life and inspired her to always place the needs of others before her own. Even in the final days of her life, she remained selfless, loving, and concerned for those around her.
Nancy shared 42 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, the late Raymond Konkle. Together they built a family rooted in faith, love, kindness, and devotion.
She had a large family whom she adored. She was loved by her children, Connie (Harold) Barker, the late Deborah (Marlin) Fleck , the late Steven Konkle; her grandchildren, Cindy (Bob) Morrissey, Daniel Fleck, Raymond (Mari) Fleck, Anthony (Micah) Fleck, Stephannie (Matt) Krim, Sarah Konkle, Samantha Konkle, Spencer Konkle, and Sophia Konkle; her great-grandchildren, Bobby, Tyler, Jaydon, Colton, Caydence, Logan, Shepard, and Carter; her sister, Suellen (the late Cliff); as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Malcolm and Willow Weatherhead, and her brother Malcolm Weatherhead.
As a teenager, Nancy worked at Huron Dairy, where she happily served sundaes and enjoyed meeting people in her community. Her greatest passion, however, was serving the Lord through ministry to children. For more than 60 years, she faithfully taught Junior Church, touching countless young lives with her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering faith. From 1978 - 2017, she also served as the Financial Secretary for Rochester Hills Christian School, where she became a beloved fixture of the school community.
Known affectionately as “Aunt Nancy,” she loved working with children and made it her mission to build a personal relationship with each one she met. Generations of Sunday schoolchildren and schoolchildren fondly remember her warm smile, encouraging words, and the Tootsie Rolls she always kept on hand. She was someone they knew they could turn to for guidance, comfort, and a listening ear.
Nancy's legacy is one of love, faith, service, and generosity. She leaves behind countless lives made better by her presence and an example of Christian devotion that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
