Pamela Jean Cory, age 63, of Kalama Washington, formerly of Highland, died Friday, November 29, 2019, in Portland, Oregon. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Stanley Cory; her two children: Brian (Mollee) Cory, and David (Jenny) Cory; her two grandchildren: Layne and Keenan; her four siblings: Bradley (Denise) Houck, Brian Houck, Duane (Cindy Davis) Houck, and Tamara (John) Martin; her father, Duane Houck; and many other extended family members and close friends.
Pamela was born November 28, 1956 in Highland Park, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Duane and Patricia (Mayo) Houck. Throughout her life, Pam worked as a real estate agent and as a reservations specialist for American Airlines. In her free time, she enjoyed several hobbies, including spending time with her two grandchildren and watching Duke University college basketball games. She loved the Duke Blue Devils and the Tarheels. Pamela also held fond memories of her travels throughout the years, and has even been to all fifty states. Her family and friends remember Pamela as the most kindhearted person they’ve ever met; she will be missed very dearly.
Pamela was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Houck.
The funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home Highland Chapel, 3295 East Highland Road, Highland, Michigan 48356. Pamela’s family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 2:00 pm. Cremation will follow. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the American Lung Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
