Patricia Ann Matthews

Patricia Ann Matthews, age 76 of Highland Twp., passed away Friday, August 22, 2014. She was the loving mother of Larry, Mark, Patty Ann (Jim) Arnold and Mickey (Caye) Matthews; proud grandmother of Kayla (Shayn) Crumper, David, Dean, Jayce, Riley, Shaylin and Mariah; great grandmother of Emmit; sister of Mary (the late Bill) Abler, Katie ( the late Tom) Daly, Alice (Tony) Balavitch, Peggy (John) Cate, the late Grace Kozik, Paul O'Brian and Tom O'Brian. Pat was also preceded in death by her parents Bernard P. and Grace M. O'Brian. Pat cared for her family friend Walter Arnold who also mourns her passing. Pat was very much a people person. She enjoyed spending time visiting with her children and grandchildren, family and friends. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-8 p.m. at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 3295 East Highland Rd., Highland. The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 25, 2014 at St. Patrick Church, 9086 Hutchins Rd., White Lake with Fr.Thomas Meagher presiding. Patricia will lie in state at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Highland Twp. Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Residential Hospice.
