My name is Debbie.
I first met Richie through my neighbor Gerry Merek at the VFW.
It was Ribs and Steak night.
I asked who cooked the ribs and they pointed to Richie. I told him him he "laid those ribs out" and they were "slammin". That is the highest praise that you can get from an African American foodie 🙂. His response was hilarious and I will never forget it. He said did I cook them like a " brother"? I laughed so hard and I said Richie you cooked them like a "brother".
He talked about his cruising with his wife.
Two weeks ago, our friend Gerry picked him up from the hospital and the car stopped. Gerry called and I picked them up and drove Richie home. It was an honor to do so.
I will miss you, but I know you are cooking for God and his army.
Peace to you as you get your wings and peace to you family... Debbie
