Dear family and loved ones of Robert,
I am so sorry for your great loss. When I have gone through times of grief, this promise from our Creator has brought me comfort. He promises us a time in the near future when mourning, outcry, pain, and even death itself will be no more. (Rev. 21:4). I hope this thought will bring you some solace as you grieve. My deepest condolences.

Mr. Battiata was my district manager when I was a Detroit News carrier back in the late 60's/early 70's. I was a teenager at that time. I enjoyed working for him. He was a mentor and a positive influence in my life. He helped motivate me and support my quest to earn trips with the newspaper by selling new subscriptions to folks on my route. With his encouragement I was able to earn trips to: London, England; Florida; and Washington D.C. (at that time my parents had never even left Detroit). He wrote a very positive and uplifting article about me and my journey which I cherish to this day. His kindness will never be forgotten. He helped me to be a better person in my life. I was saddened to read of his passing. God bless him and his family.
