Rose Ann Chaney-Shea, age 73, of White Lake, died Monday, November 25, 2019. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jennifer (Jeff) Kootsillas; honorary daughter, Tammy (Frank) Woody; grandson, Christopher Chaney; sister, Josephine Engelhardt; nephew, Jerry F. (Jennifer) Reynolds, II; cousin, Lisa (Mark) Stack-Andrews; and many other extended family members and close friends. Rose Ann was born October 18, 1946, in Cumberland, Maryland, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dayton and Josephine (McKenzie) Chaney. Rose Ann worked as a registered nurse at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital, where she was a valuable employee for forty years until her retirement. In her free time, Rose Ann enjoyed many hobbies, including quilting, shopping on QVC, and watching Jeopardy and the Wheel of Fortune. She also loved animals and had a very special bond with her cat, Lila. Rose Ann was preceded in death by her husband, James Shea.

In accordance with Rose Ann’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The memorial service will take place Saturday, November 30, 2019, at 5:00 pm at the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home Highland Chapel, 3295 East Highland Road, Highland, Michigan 48356. Pastor Gary Wissmueller will officiate. Rose Ann’s family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
