

Rosemary Eileen Alvarez, 79, of White Lake, Michigan, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born on June 12, 1947 to Harry and Eileen Irwin, in Roswell, New Mexico. Rosemary will be remembered as a loving, kind, and friendly person who always made others feel welcome. She had a gentle way about her and truly cared about the people in her life.
On September 3, 1965, Rosemary married the love of her life, Savas Alvarez. They shared nearly 40 years together until his passing in 2002. Family meant everything to Rosemary. She was a loving mom to Leonard "Lenny" Alvarez (Vicky) and Brenda Latimer (Dan). She was a proud "G'ma" to Rachel and Laura Alvarez, and Madison and Erin Latimer, and she absolutely loved being a great-G'ma to Ezra, Trace, and Cru. She enjoyed every chance she had to spend time with her family, whether it was celebrating special occasions or simply being together.
Rosemary is also survived by her siblings Richard Irwin (Cheryl), Gerald Irwin (Nina), Pamela Roberts (Greg), Christine Freiburger (Clyde), Robert Irwin (Kathy), Donald Irwin (Keith), and Barbara Irwin. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters Harry Irwin, Kenneth Irwin (Joyce), Susan Hollister (Dennis), and Beverly VanSickle. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Rosemary spent many years working as a postal worker in Bloomfield Hills, where she was known for being dependable and friendly.
Her favorite time of year was Christmas, where she would make all of her special dishes and slim jims on Christmas Eve. She also enjoyed reading, going to garage sales looking for under appreciated treasures, and spending time with family and friends. She found joy in the simple things in life and especially loved making memories with the people she cared about.
Rosemary's kindness, caring heart, and devotion to her family will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her, and her memory will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
