Stanley Francis Alexander Ryciak of White Lake, passed away May 17, 2018 at 96 years of age. Beloved husband of the late Sophie. Loving father of Andrea Olmsted and Peggy (Richard) Carter. Grandfather of Jason (Julie) Olmsted, Ivan (Valerie) Olmsted and Stede Olmsted. Great-grandfather of Jake, Olivia and Alex Olmsted.
Mr. Ryciak was a proud WWII Army Veteran, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 59 years and a member of VFW Post 1008 in Waterford. He enjoyed going to garage sales, Big Band music, traveling to Northern Michigan and using his mechanical knowledge to tinker. He also loved animals and crossword puzzles.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 21, 2018 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 13540 Gould Street in Dearborn, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 2-8 p.m. at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road in Highland and Monday at Church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. There will be a Rosary Service Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Michigan Humane Society, Horses' Haven, Disabled Veterans of America, Jewish War Veterans or Wounded Warrior Project.
