Susan Jane (DeBoer) Stafford

Susan (Sue, Susie) Jane DeBoer-Stafford, aged 55, of Waterford, MI, went home to be with the Lord on December 19, 2025. Born on February 17, 1970, in Pontiac, MI, Susan lived a life rooted in faith and kindness.

Beloved daughter of the late Elmer and Mary DeBoer. Best friend and confidant of the late Scott Stafford.

Niece of the late Corneilus DeBoer, Shirley Homan, Sharon Harmon, Sharlotte DeBoer, Dale DeBoer, Janet Decker, James Deneen, and Jerry Deneen.

Survived by sisters Tricia DeBoer (Carl) and Ann Simpson (Tony).

Nieces and nephews Marcus DeBoer, Zak Simpson, Crystal Garcia, Jeannie Thornhill, and Carl (Peanut) Wood. Stepdaughter Crystle Gaines (Shayne). Amazing Grandma to Dominiq Stump, Journi, and Karolina Gaines. Aunts Diane Deneen and Rosellen Saincome, as well as treasured cousins and friends who shared countless memories and laughter throughout the years.

The family wishes to give special mention to the Clark, Morgan, and Simonson families, who have been part of our lives for as long as we can remember. From backyard barbecues to late-night talks, you will always be part of our story.

The family also extends heartfelt thanks to our dear neighbors, whose kindness, care, and friendship brought comfort and joy to Sue throughout the years.

Sue was a member of Donelson Baptist Church in her youth. Simple pleasures like watching wildlife and playing bingo brought her joy. From an early age, she displayed a hard-working nature, whether delivering newspapers or babysitting—she was always dependable. This dedication continued throughout 32 years of employment at Arby’s, where she approached each interaction with patience, warm-heartedness, and genuine care. Her commitment to exceptional customer service was not just part of her job; it was part of who she was.

Sue touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Her selflessness, warmth, and generous spirit will be remembered forever. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that lives on in all of us. May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy in all that we do.
